Lydia Tonkonow is an artist based in Washington, DC.

She works across a number of different mediums including digital illustration, painting, and beaded sculpture. Her work draws inspiration from the natural and built world around her, with particular focus on the playful moments where the two meet. 

Tonkonow received her BA in Studio Art from Wesleyan University in 2017 and her MA in Social Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2021.

She currently has an active studio practice at DC Arts Studios.
